DNA Design is a certified B Corp.

We became a certified B Corporation® (B Corp™) in September 2022, making us a part of a global movement of people using business as a force for good, looking to balance purpose and profit – and focused on achieving the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility.

Becoming a B Corp.

To become a B Corp, DNA underwent an extensive assessment of our business model and operations to confirm that we meet high standards of social and environmental impact. 

The assessment was completed using the Business Impact Assessment, a digital tool that helps a business to measure, manage, and improve positive impact performance.

The assessment is divided into five Impact Areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. For each, we received a score that added up to a total B Impact Score.

Contributing to our Impact Score was our B Lab assessed Impact Business Model which is intentionally centred on enabling specific positive outcomes for stakeholders — including workers, community, environment, or customers. We are especially proud of our work to support our team with a positive work environment, and enabling organisations to improve sustainability outcomes and support underserved communities such as KidsCan.

Our B Impact score is 96.6.

To qualify for a B Corp certification you must score at least 80, with the median score of ordinary businesses being 50.9, so we are super proud of what we have achieved.

Workers evaluates a company’s contributions to its employees’ financial security, health and safety, wellness, career development, and engagement and satisfaction. In addition, this section recognises business models designed to benefit workers.

Community / 20.8

Community evaluates a company’s engagement with and impact on the communities in which it operates, hires from, and sources from. Topics include diversity, equity and inclusion, economic impact, civic engagement, charitable giving, and supply chain management. In addition, this section recognises business models that are designed to address specific community-oriented problems, such as poverty alleviation through fair trade sourcing or distribution via microenterprises, producer cooperative models, locally focused economic development, and formal charitable giving commitments.

Customers evaluates a company’s stewardship of its customers through the quality of its products and services, ethical marketing, data privacy and security, and feedback channels. In particular, for DNA this relates to products or services that are designed to address a particular social problem for or through its customers, such as health or educational products, arts & media products, serving underserved customers/clients, and services that improve the social impact of other businesses or organizations.
