Interaction Design Director / Wellington
Over the past 13 years Charlene has honed her approach and focussed her practice on user centred and goal directed design. In her work prior to and since joining DNA she has gained an extensive range of experience and knowledge, specialising in Information Architecture and Interaction Design. She has a passion for seeing this area of the industry grow and mature to meet the unique needs of New Zealand businesses.
Prior to joint DNA , Charlene worked at Datacom and Shift on large, complex IA and interaction design projects in both public and private sector. Charlene mentors practitioners and clients, working alongside them to explore complex issues and concepts in order to create logical information structures, meaningful content and interactions that delight users.
Charlene has an analytical mind, is definitely a 'detail person’, and yet leads much of our work in user empathy and design research on large scale projects. She is adept at putting users at easy, interrogating scenarios needs, goals and challenges to enable the DNA teams to distil valuable insight and turn that information in to active solutions and tangible value for our clients.
Charlene has worked on many of our technical and large scale projects as interaction design lead including; Ministry of Health, Trustpower, ACC Activesmart and more.
