Motorcycle safety website gets a tune up

The Motorcycle Safety Advisory Council (MSAC) was set up in 2011 to oversee the Motorcycle Safety Levy fund. The Levy is collected from motorcyclists when they register their bikes. The Levy generates approximately $1.8M per year and this money is earmarked exclusively for improving motorcycle safety on New Zealand roads.

The previous version of the website was set up to explain who the council was and their role – when it was originally formed. The organisation needed a new site to better reflect their focus – to engage with motorcyclists and to involve them in the process of improving road safety.

Features on the new site include better access to facts, training, tips tools, polls, news and other safety information, through stronger content and improved information architecture.
