"How do you ensure you get the best candidate for your role?"
The objectives for New Zealand Post's new recruitment website were clear - showcase The New Zealand Post Group, give candidates a better experience, give prospective employees a better sense of what the range of roles entailed, and reduce some of the workload carried out by the recruitment team.
The recruitment arm of The New Zealand Post Group had always lived the within the New Zealand Post corporate website. DNA needed to take the recruitment section and give it a dedicated focus and approach. The site is the primary channel for attracting candidates to New Zealand Post and is usually the first point of interaction potential candidates have with New Zealand Post. It is therefore important the interaction the candidate have with us is positive and engaging.
It was also crucial to ensure that the right people were being attracted and they were applying for roles knowing what would be expected from them. The dedicated site allowed us to provide tools, resources and information that will ensure we are able to match current roles and potential roles at New Zealand Post to the most appropriate candidates.
To balance the fact it's a content heavy site, we put real staff members up front and showcased their roles to give users a true reflection of their day to day activities.
The site has launched and is already proving successful in matching the most appropriate candidates to each role therefore minimising the back end filtering process. It has been effective in better representing the NZ Post employment experience as engaging and interesting – as well as opening up a range of job opportunities. Candidates can now easily understand what's required to apply for a specific job role and get a greater sense of the value of working at New Zealand Post.
