Technical Lead / Auckland
Andy is a seasoned developer who has been messing around with web technologies since before it was cool. The first path taken was to begin as a web designer, spending his spare time teaching himself HTML, CSS, Macromedia Fireworks and Flash. He then used those new found skills and a couple of frame based Geocities site builds to secure his first position in a fledgling web design agency.
As much as he loved design, he realised his true passion was with development and writing code and got heavily involved in learning some of the languages of the time, namely ActionScript and PHP. From there he went from strength to strength, dabbling in various languages and different working scenarios; including 2 years spent as a 'digital nomad' in South East Asia building Wordpress sites for clients in various locations.
Eventually Andy found his feet in leadership and began focusing on creating efficiencies in process and communication between clients, teams and project managers. His role at DNA is focussed on setting up projects to succeed, facilitating great team performance and helping to deliver amazing outcomes on projects. In addition, Andy will be driving the development team forward in terms of quality, capability, value, effectiveness and engagement - with clients, partners, DNA peers and end users.
When he's not doing all of the above, you'll find him on a bicycle of some description, either training on the roads of Auckland or riding some of the amazing mountain bike trails which New Zealand has to offer.
