When Meridian Energy launched an alternative online energy retailer into New Zealand’s electricity landscape, it needed to build a product and service experience as well as a brand. From day one, Powershop was category breaking.
Powershop sought DNA's help to define how best to present an interactive design solution and user experience that would allow customers to understand the concept, sign up and switch easily, and become confident users of the service. The objective was to visualise power, to mitigate consumer confusion around industry standards and jargon and to deliver a user-friendly, action-oriented interface.
As part of its launch to market Powershop also needed a public facing website that would help customers to understand the 'self-serve power' concept and provide the right platform for acquisition campaign activity.
Following on from the successful development and uptake of the web application – Powershop embarked on delivering a best in class mobile app for their customer to manage their power better. DNA have worked closely with Powershop's internal team and development partner YouDo to design the user experience and interface of New Zealands best ranked power company.
