Congratulations to the Bay of Plenty Magic for their historic win in the 2012 ANZ Championship – it's great the trophy will be finally sitting in a cabinet on this side of the ditch.
The papers are full of stories and images, the talk around our watercooler has been very excited – it's been a long time coming. The game itself was everything world class netball should be – it was fast, furious, intense, emotional and down to the wire. We are really proud of the team and its great to get a win after 5 years of trying by the Kiwi teams.
In 2008 ANZ and Trans-Tasman Netball wanted a brand platform with which to launch their new best of the best, cross Tasman netball league. They came to DNA and together the brand platform was defined and the trophy and brand expression were designed.
The brand needed to be more 'show-biz, rock star and glamorous' than traditional test match netball was promoted. The result was a colourful, high-action platform. The visual identity and brand's 'A storm is brewing' positioning, played not only on the physicality, the skill and athleticism of the best players in world netball, but celebrated and leveraged the highly intense competitive nature of our trans-tasman rivalry.
