Can we close the knowledge gap?

Grenville final3

Grenville Main, Managing Director of DNA, talks to Andy Kenworthy of Idealog about Weightless exporting, and why the time is right for many New Zealand businesses. That said its not as simple as falling off a log – the tax and funding, partnering and distribution challenges make it a significant investment decision. the ability to unlock a vast resource of latent IP that could be taken weightless is perhaps our short term windfall.

Excerpt from Idealog Guide:

DNA’s Grenville Main suggests “When you talk to people not many of them have heard the term. The country and many sectors are ripe for it, but I don’t think it is a very well understood concept and it’s not being considered or worked as hard as it could be by a long shot."

Main says: “The potential scale this could muster is significant, but we have a bloody long way to go before we’ll be anywhere close to a Fonterra in revenue terms. For years governments have said we can’t just rely on primary produce we have to figure something else out – this could be it.”
